The war 1877-1878 between Russia and the Ottoman Empire changed the face of the Balkans. This war was partly carried out on the lands of Bulgaria and Romania and more than a thousand men from Finland participated.
Lecti Culture Centre and travel agency Lecti Adventure have been working in recent years to develop sustainable cooperation with regions where the Finnish Guard and officers from Finland, including Casimir Ehrnrooth, stayed.
Lecti Adventure has brought tourist groups to many of these towns in Bulgaria and Romania, creating sustainable tourism and direct meetings between local people and visitors. Lecti Culture Centre supports the regions with advice and contacts for development projects.
